Welcome to KT Counselling

A confidential space to explore the thoughts, feelings and challenges in your life

Hello and welcome to your first step towards hope and a better future. My name is Karen and I'm a therapeutic counsellor in South Devon.

Counselling and therapy in a safe, comfortable and private setting

After a major life changing event, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery, finding strength in vulnerability and purpose in life through my own counselling journey. I experienced the deep benefit of feeling truly seen, heard and understood. This is something I seek to offer to you, and it would be my privilege to be a part of your journey.

As a qualified counsellor, I now work with people from all walks of life and backgrounds, coming to me with a diverse range of challenges. I have enhanced experience working with life changing illnesses and injuries, including disability, bereavement, depression, anxiety and relationship issues. I also volunteer for Cruse Bereavement Service and Disability Support Torbay. In the privacy of my cosy counselling room, I will be there to support you throughout your counselling journey.

Please email or call and leave a message, if you would like a free 15-minute call back, where we can discuss what you would like to gain from counselling, what your expectations are and I can answer any questions you may have.

As an integrative counsellor I draw on the teachings of Psychodynamic, Humanistic, Person Centered and Transpersonal schools of thought to tailor the work to you.

Together we can work to increase your awareness of your various experiences to find new ways for you to relate to internal conflict, enabling you to gain a deeper connection to who you are. With the increased awareness developed through our work together, comes the opportunity for more choice and the possibility for change and personal growth. This is something I seek to offer to you and it would be my privilege to be a part of your journey.

As a registered counsellor, I am an accredited registrant of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and adhere to their Ethical Framework.

Speak in confidence

My accessible room in my home provides a safe and non-judgmental space for you to explore and gain a deeper understanding of your thoughts, experiences and life challenges. I work face to face, but also on zoom and telephone for people based across Devon and the UK.

How I work

I specialise in helping people cope with disability, including life changing accidents and illnesses, as well as bereavement and traumatic loss. No matter what you bring, I will offer you a supportive, empathic, non-judgemental, safe and confidential space where you will be heard and valued. I will work alongside you, guiding you to explore what is going on for you, helping you to heal.

Working together

Working together I can help you gain greater insight into the difficulties you are facing, help you understand why you act or react to them the way you do, and see how you can start to make better, heathier choices moving forward.
