A confidential space to explore the thoughts, feelings and challenges in your life
Hello and welcome to your first step towards hope and a better future. My name is Karen and I'm a therapeutic counsellor in South Devon.
After a life-changing stroke, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery, finding strength in vulnerability and purpose through counselling to process trauma and adjust to disability. I deeply valued being gently held, truly heard, and understood. It would be my privilege to offer the same support to you and be part of your journey.
As a qualified counsellor, I now work with people from all walks of life and backgrounds, coming to me with a diverse range of challenges. I have enhanced experience working with life-changing illnesses and injuries, including disability, bereavement, depression, anxiety and relationship issues. I also volunteer for Cruse Bereavement Service and Disability Support Torbay.
In the privacy of my cosy counselling room, I will be there to support you throughout your counselling journey.
Take the First Step
If you`d like to explore how counselling could help you, please email or call and leave a message, to arrange a free 15-minute callback. This is an opportunity to discuss what you hope to gain from counselling, what your expectations are, and for me to answer any questions you may have.
As an integrative counsellor, I blend Psychodynamic, Humanistic, Person-Centred, and Transpersonal approaches to tailor our work to you.
Together, we can deepen your self-awareness, help you navigate internal conflicts, and foster personal growth with the opportunity for choice and change. Counselling can help ease the dark clouds of depression, trauma, and bereavement while providing new coping strategies for anxiety, relationship challenges, and everyday stress.
My accessible room in my home provides a safe and non-judgmental space for you to explore and gain a deeper understanding of your thoughts, experiences and life challenges. I work face to face, but also on zoom and telephone for people based across Devon and the UK.
I specialise in helping people navigate the emotional impact of disability, including life changing accidents and illnesses, as well as bereavement and traumatic loss.
My approach is tailored to your unique needs- whether that means incorporating creative methods, psychoeducation or simply providing a safe pace to explore your thoughts and concerns.
I will work alongside you, guiding you to explore what is going on for you, helping you to heal.
No matter what you bring, I offer a supportive, empathic, and non-judgemental environment where you will be truly heard and valued. Together, we will work towards understanding, healing and personal growth.
I can help you gain greater insight into the difficulties you are facing, help you understand why you act or react to them the way you do, and see how you can start to make better, heathier choices moving forward.
